Visions of Witham

This was built in 1865 as Lawn Cottage and by contrast with its Georgian neighbours has a Victorian Gothic look. It has ornate bargeboards to the gables but has lost its terracotta ridge tiles, and the brickwork has now been painted.

The building was a private residence known as Lawn Cottage before it became a hairdresser. It had been Silhouette Du Barry for many years and then Stapleton Hair Design from 2008. In 2013 an optician, Visions of Witham took over the building.

The photograph below shows Lawn Cottage in the early 20th century in its original condition.
